Project Description
CL&P has built two new underground 115-kilovolt (kV) electric transmission lines running underneath streets from Stamford, through Darien to Norwalk (see general project map or detailed maps showing completed construction route. (103 KB) ). The project has established a reliable electric supply to southwest Fairfield County, and will ensure the area's electric grid conforms to national and regional reliability criteria.
The Glenbrook Cables Project became officially in-service on November 11, 2008. All construction is complete and no traffic disruptions are anticipated going forward.
