Construction of the Long Island Replacement Cable (LIRC) project is in progress and will be completed in 2008.

| (May 5 - 19) | | | For Long Island Sound from Northport, NY, to Sheffield Island, CT, approval has been received by agencies to continue efforts to bury the remaining cable south of Sheffield Island (between high water and -30 ft. contour). Cable burial in NY waters is expected to commence in the first week of May. |
