Overhead Lines
The right of way (ROW) in Bethany is 165 feet wide and covers a distance of 2.6 miles. Today, there are three 115-kV overhead transmission structures on this ROW: two wood H-Frames and one steel lattice structure. The three existing structures are being removed and replaced with two new steel monopoles. The Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) decision calls for a delta monopole (typical height, 85 feet) for the new 345-kV line. The two 115-kV lines will reside on a double-circuit monopole (typical height, 80 feet).
